The show creates a framework for contemporary art positions that articulate the spectrum of gender difference and problematise traditional certainties about gender, sexuality and desire. The various artistic positions within the show are accompanied by art historical texts – written by Nicole Giese-Kroner, Alejandro Perdomo Daniels and Maria Rudy. The publication also contains a comprehensive essay by Alejandro Perdomo Daniels, in which he situates the exhibition in an art-historical framework and relates its exhibits to the social movements that advocate for the legitimacy of their cause.
